Calling Intrepid Explorers

Looking through the Lytham Hall history books, The Lord of the Manor John Talbot Clifton (1868-1928) travelled the world throughout his life and explored South America, Siberia, Japan, Africa and the United States. He even sat on top of a dead mammoth and ate bear soup in Russia. (hmmm thankfully that was a long time ago)!

SO taking the Halls ancestors lead, From Saturday 27 May until Friday 2 June they are organising an explorer week for families.

Between 12pm and 3pm every day pick up a flag trail from the tea room green for £2 and match the flags on the South Prospect with the countries. Every day at 1pm and 3pm there will also be an expedition up Mount Cliftonia, led by our very own volunteer Stuart, in explorer garb. Only the bravest dare tread where he goes.

There’s a BUZZ

Back by popular demand in the half-term week is our Bee Awareness Day, organised by Blackpool Beekeepers Association, who run an apiary in Lytham Hall’s parkland. On Tuesday 30 May from 11am you will be able to see inside a hive, learn all about bees and taste different sorts of honey. There are also small workshops on nail varnishing, candle rolling and such. Parking is £1 and the workshops carry a small price.
