In no other respects would we lie to our children, but the Santa conspiracy, we keep to ourselves for, what,  7 or 8 years and that if there isn’t older sibling around to ‘spill the beans’. We do it because everyone else is doing it, we do it, because want it to be a magical time for them, we do it to see the wonder on their little face, and we do it out of love (then there are the bribery aspects, but I don’t want to spoil the mood).

With today’s canny and questioning children, the story is impractical and not logical, and I thought the age when they stop believing may have come down, but apparently not, the average age is 8.4, and one friend’s (now) 10 year old happily tracks Santa on his iPad every Christmas Eve

.

SO all that, as much as we adults enjoy the hedonistic few day where we eat, drink and be merry and give and receive gifts, when’s all said and done, it’s ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN.

Here’s a run down on what’s available for them locally
