So excited to share that I attended the official celebration of the brand-new Chapman Studio! (Although its been in action for almost a year)
Located within the Windmill Performance & Education Centre and in addition to the main Pavilion Theatre at Lowther Pavilion. This 164-seat auditorium is an absolute game-changer for Lytham. Having experienced several plays and music sets here already,The modern design creates such an intimate, exclusive vibe that you just don’t get in larger venues.
It includes
🌟 Floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light (perfect for workshops) 🎬 State-of-the-art digital cinema system
🎭 A versatile hub for smaller performances and community events
It’s a cutting-edge space built on local support, and a real coup for Lytham and the Fylde which was sadly lacking this type of resource
As well as the new space, the “back room” energy is exactly what gives a venue its soul! It takes a massive, coordinated effort to make everything from a sell-out play to a community workshop feel seamless.
The professionalism at the Chapman Studio and Lowther Pavilion comes down to a dedicated mix of experts and locals:
- Artistic Leadership: Curating a diverse programme that balances professional tours with community-led projects.
- The PR & Marketing Team: Ensuring the “Windmill Performance & Education Centre” is on everyone’s radar and building the studio’s brand.
- Box Office & Front of House: The first point of contact, managing everything from digital cinema bookings to guest arrivals.
- The Volunteer Army: A massive group of dedicated locals who give their time to usher, support events, and keep the community spirit alive.
If you haven’t checked out a show or screening here yet, you are missing out on a real gem.
Why the Chapman Studio? Well, it’s named after the late Fylde coast impresario Duggie Chapman One of Lancashire’s showbusiness veterans, Chapman produced stage shows for more than 50 years and made more than 100 appearances on the BBC.

Met some interesting local people that will be subject of some up coming ‘Who’s Who’ blogs so keep watch this space
