SmileFactor10 Presents::The International Kite Festival – St Anne’s on Sea
With the support of St Anne’s Town Council, our beautiful Fylde Coast comes alive with colour and activity again this weekend and the now legendary International Kite Festival.
This year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever before, with kite teams from up and down the UK and overseas. There will be single-line kites in every design imaginable – including massive whales in the sky, an octopus, cow, stingray, dog, and even flying hippos – as well as amazing two-line and four-line stunt kite action. The fliers’ mastery and artistry is a sight to see,
A Festival Vibe by the Sea
The festival takes place on St Annes Beach centred around St Anne’s Pier and will feature a specially designated display zone known as the David Lidstone Arena which will be to the left of the pier. Here, kite flyers will offer live commentary, allowing you behind the scenes of their mesmerizing performances. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, 2025 sees the introduction of a new artisan market in the Promenade Gardens showcasing local makers and producers. It’s also a wonderful way to find one-of-a-kind handmade treasures, tasty treats and to shop small while taking in the vibe of the festival.
By Day and By Night
During the day, the skies will be full of colourful kites, with everything from giant inflatable pieces to delicate sculptures and routines with precision and flair. Don’t miss the illuminated night flying on Friday evening — when the twilight sky will be flled with LED kites that shimmer like stars and lantern-lit designs that drift across the horizon
Practical Information
The Kite Festival is free and family-friendly, but is 100 percent weather-dependent. Operational requirements and day-of conditions may alter schedules with little notice.
Note: There is a Dog Exclusion zone on the beach on either side of St Anne’s Pier that is clearly marked for visitors. But you can still enjoy the show with your four-legged friends on the Promenade or in the kite-flying zones outside the restricted area.
