Best Coastal Resort (And We’re Not Just Saying That)

Back in 2013, we were officially recognised as one of the UK’s best coastal resorts by the National Statistics Office. We regularly appear in ‘Best Place to Live’ Top Ten and so  many of our attractiona, festivals and events have scooped tourism awards too. We don’t brag often. But when we do, it’s usually justified.

It’s high-end luxury sitting comfortably beside vintage and quirky chic. It’s relaxed Sunday strolls and dressed-up Saturday nights. Most of our shops are proudly independent. The owners are often behind the counter. They know their stock, they know their customers, and alwats welcome new ones, and they genuinely care. That attentive, welcoming feeling? You can’t manufacture that.

Our food scene is as eclectic as our shop fronts.

You can dine on refined Italian cuisine, share tapas with friends, or tuck into fish and chips with the sea breeze for seasoning. Order a triple espresso, a perfectly brewed pot of tea, a celebratory glass of champagne, a well-balanced cocktail, or a traditional pint poured properly.

Cream scone? Obviously.
