9 August @ 12:00 AM
Whats on this week at the Theatre Lytham StAnnes

Within the beautiful surroundings of Lowther Gardens in Lytham St Annes, Lowther Pavilion Theatre has proudly served the Fylde Coast and surrounding communities as a vibrant cultural hub since opening in 1921. For over a century, it has been a place where people come together to enjoy, participate in, and celebrate the arts.

Over the years, the Pavilion has welcomed national and international stars from across a wide range of genres, alongside an ever-evolving programme of performances and events. Today, audiences can enjoy everything from serious plays and comedy to musicals, amateur dramatics, theatre school productions, and showcase performances. The programme also includes touring companies and artists as well as screenings and streamed productions of popular National Theatre titles, bringing world-class performances to local audiences.

Each year, the venue hosts more than 480 shows and events, attracting over 95,000 visitors. From large-scale productions to intimate performances, there is something for everyone to experience and enjoy.

A New Chapter

In April 2025, an exciting new chapter began with the opening of our second venue: The Windmill Performance & Education Centre. This £3 million development has expanded our ability to support both performance and participation in the arts.

The Windmill is home to The Lions Community Space and The Chapman Studio — a flexible second auditorium with capacity for 162 seated or 350 standing. This new space allows us to broaden our programme and provide greater opportunities for community-led projects, emerging talent, and creative learning.

More than just an extension, The Windmill reflects our commitment to nurturing creativity, supporting local voices, and ensuring the arts remain accessible to all.

More Than a Theatre

Beyond the stage, Lowther Pavilion is also at the heart of a lively calendar of events and festivals. Throughout the year, we host regular festival weekends, including the popular Ice Cream Festival, as well as themed seasonal events such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas celebrations around the Gardens.

We are also proud to present an International Film Festival, further enriching our programme and offering audiences even more ways to engage with the arts.
