Lytham International Film Festival Returns for 2026

Lights, camera… Lytham! The award-winning Lytham International Film Festival returns from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2026, promising its biggest and most ambitious programme yet.

Now in its fourth year, the festival brings independent cinema from around the world to three local venues—the Assembly Rooms, Lytham Methodist Church and Lytham Institute. Across four packed days, audiences can discover short films, feature films, documentaries and music videos, including award-winning work and films not yet on general release.

It isn’t simply a matter of watching a film and heading home with your popcorn crumbs, either. The programme also includes filmmaker Q&As, talks, workshops, masterclasses, networking opportunities and the chance to meet actors, directors and other industry guests.

Whether you’re a dedicated film buff, an aspiring filmmaker or somebody who simply fancies seeing something beyond the usual cinema listings, it’s a wonderful opportunity to experience bold new stories and creative talent right here in Lytham.
