Apologies to Alex that this is SO late!!
Life is a gift
Living in Lytham is certainly is the gift that keeps on giving, and as for living it every day. it’s easy enough with all the fabulous events on around and about. As you know from my last blog July was a hive of activity for me and Gusto was a BIG part of it; Brunch, Cocktail Club, Cocktail Making Masterclass, Diamond Evening and Gin Tasting to name but a few…but despite the long list I will keep this post as short and sweet as possible and leave it to you to go in and see for yourself.
Starting the Gusto journey with a Passionate Fizz (yes it’s as bubbly and titillating as it sounds) at Cocktail Club on the Friday night then pancakes, strawberries, whipped cream and Bucks Fizz outside in the sunshine made for the perfect brunch the following morning, it’s sounding good already isn’t it?! That same afternoon I headed back with my girls and got behind the bar for a cocktail Masterclass with our connoisseur Morgan and had lots of fun, laughs and two cheeky cocktails. I would definitely recommend having a go yourself for an alternative afternoon out or like me a celebratory activity.
Gin Tasting hosted by Hunters Gin served as a refreshing change in more ways than one; it was on the hottest day of the year and even for me who you wouldn’t call a gin drinker I admit that the cool G&T went down very well and dare I say possibly changed my opinion about ordering gin in the future…only Hunters Gin though! An interesting insight into the background of gin and how to drink it was accompanied by two additional cocktails to the gin and tonic and a delicious sharing platter. If you haven’t booked on to the next evening on 28th September then I suggest you do!
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend so they say, and they certainly felt like mine when I was invited to the Diamond Evening with Neil Geddes Fine Jewellery Concierge in association with the British Red Cross. A glass of fizz on arrival, a divine 3 course meal, dazzling diamonds and a raffle (which I won and no it was not a fix!) made for a truly wonderful evening. Yes I may have been a little dressed up for a Tuesday evening but hey when there’s diamonds around you need to dress appropriately!
Unfortunately I missed out on the Chase Vodka night due to illness; I really was gutted because vodka is my poison and as I enjoyed the Gin Tasting and Diamond Evening so much I knew I was missing a treat, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they have another one on the cards soon, who wants to come with me?
All in all Gusto know what they’re doing when you look into their mirror and it reads “too much of a good thing can be truly wonderful”.
