It’s an on-demand delivery service for high-quality restaurant meals, that has launched today in Lytham and St Annes.
So if you want to eat prawns in your pj’s, steak or spaghetti, in your smalls, or having friends/family round, plus wines & spirits too!
Work wise having a team meeting or special clients visiting……..Deliveroo is for you!
Over the course of the first year, more than 30 jobs will be created for local people with the majority of these being Deliveroo riders, who aim to deliver food, which will be cooked, fresh to order and delivered to the customer’s door within 32 minutes and just for £2.50!
More than 15 restaurants have signed up to the service, meaning the hungry residents of Lytham and St Annes can now get their favourite food from their most loved local restaurants including Portofino, PizzaExpress, Prezzo, Olive Tree Brasserie and Gusto within 2.5 miles of your home, office or venue.

Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between 12 noon and 11pm, from a variety of leading local, independent and high-quality chain restaurants, conveniently delivered to their homes and offices.

Ok so last night we thought it’d be rude not to try it out ourselves. We did have a few hiccups with ordering on a lap top, but soon resolved by using the App. We opted for Portofinos, allthough (in Lytham) there are currently 8 other food/drink establishments to choose from ranging from a cream tea’s from Berties to Wines & Platters from Barrique.
We order garlic bread, two starters & a pasta dish, it arrived in 35 mins, average being 32, and that is why there is a strict distance criteria.
I’m not going to lie, it looked pretty boring in it’s obligatory foil containers, but when table set and served on your best plates, with your own wine or beverage of your choice, it IS a pleasurable experience….and without having to get dressed up and finding somewhere to park or no taxi fares!
It’s not something you would do everyday (well not for most of us!) but for an intimate meal, having friends round, Weekend cant-be-bother-to-cook feeling it’s IDEAL.
