St Annes Operatic & Dramatic Society
115+ Years And Still Going Strong!
The society is believed to be oldest established light opera/musical comedy society in West Lancashire, if not even further afield, a circumstance of which they are very proud! Formed in St. Annes-on-Sea in the early months of 1900.
St. Annes Pier Pavilion, then Ashton Pavilion Theatre in Ashton Gardens St. Annes, have been their home in the past, but both were sadly destroyed by fire, never to be rebuilt.
Lowther Pavilion in Lytham was first used by the society in 1978, and there they’ve remained ever since.
They have produced musicals annually since 1949, excepting only 1982.
New Members Welcome – Come Join In The Fun
In the last few years, they’ve been fortunate to have an influx of new members, including some very talented young members who we hope will ensure the future of this Society for many years to come!
If you would like to join, they often have people who have no dramatic experience and are just looking to get out and meet new people… and have fun along the way.
They rehearse each Thursday and Monday Evening at the Church Road Centre, Church Road, St Annes.
Their contact details can be found on their website stannesoperatics.co.uk.
